We are seeking a talented professional to architect and deliver the backend infrastructure and core integrations for a web application designed to streamline carbon credit project submissions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a Node.js and Express backend with RESTful APIs to manage submission CRUD operations, user roles and admin features.
  • Optimize MongoDB schemas for submissions, user data and state transitions, implementing encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Develop JWT-based authentication with multi-role logic, integrating with frontend endpoints for secure access control.
  • Build backend logic for submission state transitions, overdue flagging, mock AI scoring and PDF generation triggers via html2pdf.js.
  • Deploy and maintain the MVP on Replit, achieving API response times and uptime.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to define API contracts, troubleshoot integration issues and ensure seamless data flow.
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for APIs, encryption and state management.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 6+ years of full-stack development experience, 4+ years leading backend architecture and deployment.
  • MongoDB schema design, indexing and encryption experience.
  • JWT implementation, role-based access control and end-to-end encryption experience.
  • RESTful API design and optimization experience.
  • Deployment expertise on platforms like Replit, Heroku or AWS.
  • Automated testing experience using Jest or Mocha.
Preferred Skills
  • html2pdf.js or server-side PDF generation library experience.
  • Replit hosting constraints and MongoDB Atlas configuration experience.
  • Government compliance standards knowledge.
  • Queue-based system experience.
