We are seeking a highly skilled individual to fill the role of Site Reliability Engineer.

Job Description

  • To maintain and improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure applications are robust, efficient, and capable of handling growing user bases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Availability and Reliability:
    Ensure availability and reliability of services and applications.
    Implement monitoring and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
    Manage on-call rotations and incident response to handle outages and performance issues.
  • System Monitoring and Optimization:
    Continuously monitor application performance.
    Identify and resolve bottlenecks, optimize resource usage, and enhance scalability.
    Conduct capacity planning and load testing using JMeter.
  • Incident Management:
    Play key role in incident response and management, ensuring swift resolution of issues to minimize service disruptions.
    Lead post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Performance Analysis:
    Analyze system performance and reliability trends using VisualVM.
    Make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with software development teams to provide input into design and architecture of applications, emphasizing reliability, scalability, and observability.
    Foster culture of shared responsibility for reliability and performance.
    Refine deployment and release processes with development teams.
  • Infrastructure Management:
    Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure.
    Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for applications using Jenkins, Bitbucket, or similar tools.
  • Security and Compliance:
    Implement security best practices for applications and infrastructure.
    Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments using SonarQube and OWASP ZAP.
  • Automation and Tooling:
    Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Java and related technologies.
    Implement and manage observability tools to gain insights into system behavior.
    Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies to improve SRE practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in Site Reliability Engineering and Java Software Engineering.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Java programming and scripting languages.
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, networking, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
