Senior Platform Software Engineer Position

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Software Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our platform. The ideal candidate will have expertise in backend systems, platform engineering, DevOps, and containerization.

The selected individual will drive infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and monitoring/alerting pipelines, as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and platform deployments.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned engineer to contribute to the growth and success of our company by designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure backend services and platform components.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Drive Infrastructure Automation: Design and implement automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using tools like Terraform and Pulumi.
  2. CI/CD Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  3. Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring and alerting systems to detect and respond to issues promptly.
  4. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with Field Engineering teams to support PoCs and platform deployments in customer Cloud VPCs and on-premises environments.
  5. ML/NLP Workload Deployment: Deploy, scale, and optimize machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) workloads, particularly model inference.
  6. Reliability and Scalability: Lead initiatives to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
  7. Architecture and Infrastructure Decisions: Contribute to architecture and infrastructure decisions as we scale our platform.
  8. Code Quality and DevOps Culture: Champion best practices in code quality, testing, and DevOps culture across the team.
Requirements:
  1. 5+ Years of Experience: Possess at least 5 years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on backend systems and platform engineering, including at least 2 years in DevOps and 2 years in development.
  2. Computing Environment Expertise: Have deep experience with all computing environments, such as GCP, AWS, On-premises, or Azure.
  3. Containerization and Orchestration: Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  4. Observability Tools: Experience with observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, etc.
  5. ML Platforms and Data Infrastructure: Experience working on ML platforms or supporting ML workloads in production, as well as familiarity with data infrastructure, e.g., Kafka, Spark, Airflow.
  6. Languages and Infrastructure-as-Code: Proficiency in languages like Go, Python, or Java and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform and Pulumi.
  7. Technical Support: Experience providing technical support of custom-developed systems to customers.
