Delivering Complex Software Solutions as a Senior Backend Developer

Job Description:

We seek an experienced Senior Backend Developer with in-depth knowledge of Rust and its ecosystem to drive the development of complex software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, and have experience across multiple programming languages.

The successful candidate will lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems. They will build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices to support diverse applications, ensuring high code quality through best practices such as continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), code reviews, and secure coding standards.

Key responsibilities include refactoring and modernizing legacy software systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying and mitigating technical risks, and mentoring junior developers. A strong grasp of systems-level concepts, async programming, memory safety, and performance optimization is essential for success in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At-least 5 years of professional software development experience with at least 1 - 2 years of hands-on experience in Rust
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of the following: Java (Spring Boot), Node.js / Express, .Net / .Net core
  • Solid understanding of systems-level concepts, async programming, memory safety, and performance optimization
  • Proven experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with front-end and mobile languages (e.g., React, React Native, Tailwind CSS)
  • Experience building microservices or RESTful APIs
  • Tech stack & Tools: Rust (Actix, Axum, Rocket, Tokio), SQLx, SeaORM, Serde, Clap, Reqwest
  • Experience with Git, containerization, and CICD pipelines
  • Experience with AWS cloud platform and its services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • In-depth understanding of the entire software development lifecycle (design, development, and deployment)
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and experience with database optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • MS / BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field
