The Division

Uniware Systems Limited is a division of Jonas Software (an operating group of Constellation Software Inc.) and is a UK market leader established in 1993, providing EPoS and Payment solutions. This includes cashless catering via Upay.co.uk, customer present and online payment solutions. Clients include Motorway Services, Universities (including many Colleges from the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge, and King's and Imperial Colleges London), Financial Service Companies and Banks, Law firms and many other Blue-Chip businesses across the UK. We have provided point of sale services to the All England Lawn Tennis Championships, Wimbledon, since 1997. Uniware Systems works with all business types in the catering and retail sectors, and services clients through resellers in Ireland & Malaysia.

The Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Database Developer with hands-on experience in SQL Server development and SSRS. The ideal candidate should be passionate about data architecture, reporting solutions, and optimizing database performance in a high-availability environment. The selected candidate will work out of the Contour Software Islamabad office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Build, deploy, and manage SSRS reports to support operational and analytical reporting needs.
• Collaborate with application developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
• Optimize database performance by identifying slow-running queries and improving indexing strategies.
• Implement and maintain ETL processes using T-SQL or SSIS as needed.
• Participate in database version control, schema changes, and deployment processes.
• Monitor and assess for schema drift with a view to reintegrating the changes to persist a single master schema
• Document data models, report logic, stored procedures, and database architecture.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+ preferred).
• Strong expertise in writing complex T-SQL queries and performance tuning.
• Proficient in SSRS with experience designing pixel-perfect reports.
• Understanding of relational database design, normalization, and indexing strategies.
• Knowledge of DBA concepts such as backups, restores, jobs, and user permissions.
• Experience in data modelling and schema design for transactional and reporting databases.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills.
  
  

Nice To Have

• Exposure to SSIS, Power BI, or other BI/reporting tools.
• Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, TFS) for database code.
• Knowledge of cloud-based SQL services (e.g., Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with large single-tenant database environments with over 100+ tenants
