Medical professionals have the noble responsibility of delivering quality patient care, with a focus on health and safety through thorough triage, history taking, physical examination, laboratory/radiology investigations, diagnoses, treatment, and referral.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care: Deliver high-quality care to patients based on their unique needs, combining medical expertise with compassion and empathy.
  • Daily Rounds: Conduct regular rounds, initiate case discussions, monitor patient progress, and ensure seamless handovers.
  • Referrals and Testing: Advise on further testing and referrals as needed, ensuring timely interventions and optimal outcomes.
  • Training and Education: Foster a culture of continuous learning by initiating regular case discussions, identifying training gaps, and providing hands-on training as required.
  • Staff Development: Advocate for necessary training of staff, provide guidance, and empower them to excel in their roles.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze medical service data to ensure quality of care, driving informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Infection Prevention: Implement and adhere to standard precautions as per international standards, safeguarding patient and staff well-being.
  • Shift Schedules: Participate in 24-hour health service delivery systems, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Protocols and Standards: Adhere to international protocols and standards related to patient assessment, diagnosis, and prescription, upholding the highest standards of medical practice.
  • Supervision and Management: Manage and supervise clinical staff, guiding them toward excellence and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Patient Education: Provide personalized health education to patients and community members, empowering them to take control of their health and wellness.

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

Essential Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: Hold a valid medical degree with a license to practice and be board certified or equivalent.
  • Clinical Experience: Have at least 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in low-resource settings.
  • Program Experience: Possess experience in programs relating to primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and emergency/outbreak response.
  • NGO Experience: Previous NGO experience is advantageous.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, strong communication skills, self-motivation, sound judgment, decision-making, flexibility, and ability to work with diverse personalities and cultures.
