The Shift Manager role is a pivotal position that requires exceptional leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will have the ability to motivate and supervise a team to achieve operational excellence, while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shift Management: Oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to standard. Coordinate staff schedules, breaks, and assignments to optimize productivity and customer service.
  • Customer Service: Ensure all customers are greeted warmly and served promptly. Address customer complaints and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Team Supervision: Lead, motivate, and supervise team members during shifts. Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of all products. Conduct inventory counts and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies. Conduct routine checks to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Cash Handling: Oversee cash handling procedures, including opening and closing tills, making bank deposits, and ensuring accurate cash registers. Address any discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor sales performance during shifts and assist in implementing strategies to achieve sales targets. Provide feedback to team members to help them improve their performance.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team to achieve operational excellence and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and customer complaints.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain an organized work environment.
  • Accuracy: High level of accuracy in handling cash, monitoring inventory, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in hospitality or retail management is advantageous. Food safety certification is preferred but not necessary.
