Virtual Medical Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Virtual Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in maintaining the smooth operation of our medical services and enhancing patient experience.

  • Handle patient inquiries via phone, email, and chat, providing information, scheduling appointments, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of time and resources for healthcare providers and maximizing patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems, adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Verify patient insurance information, handle pre-authorizations, and process claims efficiently and accurately.
  • Input and update patient information, medical histories, and treatment plans in the electronic medical records system, ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers.
  • Assist with the preparation of medical reports, correspondence, and other documents as needed, utilizing strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Provide high-quality service to patients, addressing their needs promptly and professionally, and exceeding expectations in terms of care and compassion.
  • Assist with the setup and management of telehealth appointments, ensuring both patients and providers are prepared and connected for successful virtual consultations.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a healthcare administrative role, with a proven track record of success and growth.
  • Certification in Medical Assisting or a related field, such as CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant).
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare practices, including HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • A reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace, conducive to productivity and focus.
