Job Description

This position involves assisting and supporting the implementation of protection monitoring and analysis activities as part of IOM's Protection activities.

  • Support the implementation of protection monitoring activities, including data collection and facilitating household surveys, key informant interviews and focus group discussions.
  • Draft, review and update protection monitoring data collection tools in consultation with the Protection Officer.
  • Develop ad hoc Protection Analysis reports, documents and briefers on various protection trends and issues.
  • Contribute to enhancing knowledge-sharing and understanding of key protection trends and issues within IOM Pakistan by developing a Policy Tracker and monthly Protection Bulletin.
  • Conduct capacity-building of IOM and Implementing Partner staff on data collection techniques, data ethics and confidentiality.
  • Analyse data collected through protection monitoring and analysis activities.
  • Conduct field monitoring visits to monitor data collection exercises and identify good practices and challenges.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of protection risks, community dynamics and displacement trends.
  • Prepare presentations based on the findings of IOM's protection monitoring activities.

Requirements

Education

  • Master's degree from an accredited academic institution in Law, Human Rights or Social Sciences.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution in Law, Human Rights or Social Sciences with two years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Experience in human rights research, protection monitoring and analysis, and advocacy.
  • Strong experience in leading protection monitoring, analysis and research activities related to migration and displacement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social science research methodologies, including qualitative research.

Skills

  • Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of social science research methodologies.
  • Excellent computer skills and literacy.
  • Strong knowledge of international human rights principles and protection risks.
  • Team-work oriented and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
