Senior Draftsperson

Job Summary:
A senior draftsperson is required to independently manage drafting projects and lead a team of draftsmen. The successful candidate will perform a comprehensive range of drafting, detailing, and other related duties to produce accurate drawings as part of their services.

1. Project Management: Basic understanding of project management concepts including scheduling jobs and estimating job times.
2. Drafting Techniques: Thorough knowledge of drafting techniques and principles, including the use of common software drafting tools and instruments.
3. Quality Control: Perform quality checking (QC) on drawings and 3D models generated by team members.
4. Reporting: Prepare reports to document the quality checking process.
5. Customer Approval: Approve drawings according to customer specific requirements.
6. Data Management: Maintain files and data in accordance with established policies and procedures.
7. Accident Investigations: Participate in accident and incident investigations within the area of responsibility.
8. Engineering Drafting: Technical and skilled engineering drafting work for office and production drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals jobs.
9. BOQ Calculation: Calculate bill of quantities (BOQ) for estimation and production.
10. Document Preparation: Prepare and revise shop drawings, details, sections, charts, and similar documents as directed.
11. Product Development: Plan, organize, and complete engineering assignments such as product development.
12. Vendor Interaction: Interact with vendors at all phases of product development.
13. Manufacturing Experience: Possess manufacturing-related experience.
14. Progress Reporting: Ensure product development progress is reported according to company standards.
15. Problem-Solving: Evaluate alternative solutions to development problems and modify products as needed.
16. Visual Management: Maintain compliance with visual management standards.

Qualification: A minimum of two years' diploma or DAE Mechanical qualification
CAD software skills, preferably Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro/E, and other relevant software.
Maintenance of knowledge regarding manufacturing processes and materials.
Familiarity with local engineering companies and mechanical workshops.
JIGS and FIXTURE design and detailing expertise.
Ability to lead projects from concept to completion and possess expertise in creating parts and assemblies models, detailed machine drawings, fabrication drawings, BOM generation, and other tasks.

Responsibilities: Review drawings, revise as necessary, communicate instructions, and perform administrative duties to support engineering activities, including document storage, distribution, and retrieval.
