Quality Assurance and Food Safety Specialist

The role involves ensuring finished product quality testing, data collection for reporting purposes, and statistical trend analysis to identify opportunities for food quality and safety improvement. Collaboration with internal customers is necessary to address product quality and food safety issues until resolution through root cause analysis and other quality control tools.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing regular sampling, testing, monitoring, data entries, review of quality walls (process & packaging) of two production lines as per defined frequencies and coordinating with the relevant team regarding information on product quality and required corrective actions to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Ensuring control of non-conforming finish products of production lines through PepsiCo Hold and Release guidelines and coordinating with the relevant team to prevent mishandling or dispatch of any out-of-specification product. Verification testing and closing all hold incidents of the respective shift through proper root cause analysis as defined in the Hold Release procedure. Performing the hold and release activity in SAP/ASRS as well as according to QAS requirements.
  • Ensuring that all laboratory instruments are calibrated to guarantee accurate testing results, and conducting control samples 'AQC' (Moisture, Oil, Salt, FFA) on instruments to verify that they are within specifications during each shift.
  • Conducting at least one thorough line walk in Process, Packaging, and Storage areas for all lines during the shift to ensure compliance with PepsiCo Quality and Food Safety standards.
  • Performing/conducting FL710 daily checks and bias tracking, sampling, and testing, along with result entries in Bias Manager for both production lines, and taking corrective action if necessary.
  • Conducting at least one audit of Third-party cold stores per month according to Quality and Food Safety standards and submitting a report.
  • Preparing Daily QA&FS scorecards for QA morning meetings and Management morning meetings to demonstrate product performance and opportunity areas.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for process, packaging, and storage areas and highlighting any deviations.
  • Participating in preparation activities for external audits of QAS, ASHA, HALAL, AIB, and FSSC.
  • Taking overall responsibility for each activity of the respective shift and ensuring that all tasks are completed according to PepsiCo guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Food Technology/Chemistry/QM.
  • At least 5 years' experience in the FMCG industry.
  • Good knowledge of material testing and quality assessment.
  • Knowledge of quality and food safety standards (preferably lead auditor).
  • Understanding of ISO 9001.
