Education Project Officer Role

In this pivotal Education Project Officer position, you will play a key role in the planning and implementation of education projects.

The primary responsibility is to ensure alignment with project objectives, timelines, and sector plans. This entails managing contracts and finances, guaranteeing compliance with relevant guidelines and procedures, and proactively addressing potential risks to prevent delays or inefficiencies.

  • Project Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop detailed work plans and timelines for project activities at the provincial level, aligning with the Partnership Compact and Education Sector Plan.
  • Collaborate closely with UNESCO Education team, National Education Coordination Officer, Admin/Finance team, and MEAL team to ensure timely planning, implementation, resource disbursement, monitoring, and logistics support.
  • Facilitate prioritization of activities, allocate resources efficiently, and address logistical needs of the project team.
  • Maintain tracking systems and databases to monitor adherence to contractual/partnership agreements, performance requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Contract and Financial Management:
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts, partnership agreements, and amendments in compliance with administrative procedures.
  • Monitor contract execution, track compliance with regulations, and report discrepancies for corrective actions.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately, expenditures align with approved plans, and deviations are addressed promptly.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
  • Monitor project activities to ensure alignment with project objectives, Partnership Compact, and Education Sector Plan.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data to assess effectiveness of project interventions, identify areas for improvement, and ensure evidence-based decision-making.
  • Prepare quality progress and financial reports for internal use and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate documentation meets audit and evaluation requirements.
