Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced VAT and Tax Advisor to join our team. As a VAT and Tax Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance on VAT implications for cross-border transactions, advising on structuring business transactions to ensure tax efficiency, and staying updated on changes in regional tax regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of VAT laws and tax regulations in GCC countries, as well as experience working with tax treaties and cross-border tax implications.

The key qualifications for this role include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's or CPA/ACCA is a plus).
  2. 3–5 years of experience in VAT and tax compliance, preferably in the Middle East.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and effective communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. VAT compliance and reporting: Prepare and file accurate VAT returns within specified deadlines, ensure timely payment of VAT liabilities, and manage VAT refunds.
  2. Tax advisory and planning: Provide guidance on VAT implications for cross-border transactions, advise on structuring business transactions to ensure tax efficiency, and stay updated on changes in regional tax regulations.
  3. Tax audits and risk management: Support and manage tax audits and queries raised by tax authorities, identify potential tax risks, and implement corrective measures to mitigate them.
  4. Internal collaboration: Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure compliance with tax laws, provide training and updates to teams on VAT and tax-related changes.
  5. Other tax responsibilities: Handle compliance for other applicable taxes (e.g., corporate tax, withholding tax, Zakat), support the implementation of new tax policies or systems in the region.
