Job Description

A key role in bringing stories to life, involving idea generation and script assessment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Researching and evaluating concepts and finished screenplays;
  • Commissioning writers or acquiring rights to novels, plays, or screenplays;
  • Developing a professional network of contacts and collaborating with financial backers on diverse projects;
  • Utilizing software for screenwriting, budgeting, and scheduling;
  • Hiring key personnel, including directors and crews for filming, video production, and television programs;
  • Managing budgets and resource allocation;
  • Crafting a cohesive team by coordinating creative and practical talents involved in the project;
  • Maintaining current technical expertise;
  • Coordinating shooting schedules based on producer type and support staff availability;
  • Troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with regulations, codes of practice, and health and safety laws;
  • Overseeing project progression from production to post-production;
  • Hosting regular meetings with the director to discuss characters and scenes;
  • Serving as a sounding board for the director;
  • Budgeting the final production effectively.
