Payroll Officer Job Description

About this role:

We are seeking a skilled payroll professional to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing employee payrolls, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collect daily, weekly and monthly timesheets, review them thoroughly for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Prepare employees' compensation using payroll software, incorporating allowances/bonuses as required.
  3. Report on payroll expenses, compensation, benefits, insurance deductions and taxes, highlighting any discrepancies or areas of improvement.
  4. Enter new employee data into the company's databases, maintaining accurate records at all times.
  5. Distribute pay checks or schedule bank payments, ensuring timely delivery and processing.
  6. Plan and organize the payroll management system, streamlining processes to improve efficiency.
  7. Ensure data security, network access and backup systems, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access.
  8. Maintain accurate attendance records, monitoring employee leave and holiday entitlements.
  9. Prepare accurate monthly payroll inputs, including joiners, leavers, movers and changes in allowance, once off payments and deductions, ensuring seamless transitions.
  10. Maintain accurate employee lifecycle records, tracking key milestones and events.
  11. Process employee payrolls accurately, calculating hours, overtime, bonuses and deductions with precision and attention to detail.
  12. Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Solid experience of similar related work with reputable organizations, dealing with multiple domains and stakeholders.
  • 3-4 years of experience working as a payroll/finance officer, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a solid foundation in financial principles and practices.

Work Schedule:

10am-7pm, Monday to Friday.

Location:

DHA 1, Sector F, Rawalpindi.
