Job Overview

This role is a key position in ensuring the security and safety of research activities, teams, and facilities across various locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing security management programs and policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing recommendations for security clearance.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be proficient in MS Office, and possess good training and development skills. A graduate from a recognized institute or university, with experience as a retired Armed Forces Officer equivalent to Captain/Major rank, is highly desirable.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement security management programs and related policies at country-wide research sites/operations.
  • Conduct Security Risk Assessments, Premises Vulnerability Surveys, and routine inspections & maintenance of physical and electronic security equipment.
  • Review pre-award & award research funding requests and provide recommendations for security clearance.
  • Ensure security of all research activities, movements of AKU research teams, and compliance to award stage recommended security measures.

Key Requirements:

  • A graduate from a HEC recognized Institute/University.
  • Retired Armed Forces Officer equivalent to Captain/Major rank.
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Urdu (knowledge of local languages will be preferred).
  • Proficient in MS Office & Outlook.
  • Good training and development skills.
