Job Title: Optometry Educator

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Optometry Educator.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Learning: Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning environments for students, aligning with the University's academic standards.
  • Course Delivery: Teach assigned courses according to faculty workload policies, employing innovative methods to facilitate experiential learning.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Set, mark, and assess work and examinations, offering constructive feedback to students to enhance their academic performance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of students' academic performance for internal evaluations.
  • Mentoring: Pursue mentoring opportunities with 15-20 students through the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  • Research and Publication: Contribute to publications or disseminate research findings through various media channels, pursuing practical applications of research outcomes.
  • Line Management: Provide line management, supervising the work of others in research teams and projects, or acting as a PhD supervisor when necessary.
Requirements:
  • A strong background in optometry education, with relevant experience in teaching and research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging teaching materials, incorporating Islamic and ethical values into teaching practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
