Job Description

The role of Patient Safety Quality Assurance Specialist is a critical component of ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection and Analysis

The specialist will collect and analyze data on the scope of services for Quality and Patient Safety activities at Medical Centres and Home Health services. This information will be used to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies for enhancing patient care.

Quality Activities Support

Under the supervision of senior management, the specialist will assist with quality activities, including conducting internal and external audits, compiling results, and implementing action plans. This will help ensure that all aspects of patient care meet the required standards.

Clinical Indicator Development

The specialist will collaborate with medical and surgical departments to develop clinical indicators for Operational Performance Evaluation (OPPE). These indicators will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of patient care and inform decision-making.

Institutional Dashboard Management

The specialist will compile and analyze institutional dashboard indicators, JCIA library of measures, clinical measures, managerial measures, and International Patient Safety Goals. This will enable the organization to track its performance and make data-driven decisions.

Audit and Compliance

The specialist will conduct internal and external quality audits, compile results, and implement action plans. This will ensure that all aspects of patient care meet the required standards and that any issues are addressed promptly.

Best Practices Implementation

The specialist will adopt best practices for resource utilization and review quality documents for authenticity. This will help ensure that resources are used efficiently and effectively.

Training and Development

The specialist will ensure employees receive required training and facilitate Comprehensive Unit Based Safety programs. This will enhance staff knowledge and skills and promote a culture of safety and quality.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Three years of clinical experience, including one year in a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to utilize current and emerging technology efficiently
