Job Title: Senior Academic Professional

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet predetermined annual targets assigned by the Department Head.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students, aligned with University goals.
  • Teach assigned courses, adhering to faculty workload policy and best practices in education.
  • Continuously develop own teaching and learning skills, contributing to program planning and curriculum development.
  • Employ innovative teaching strategies, facilitating experiential learning during lessons and promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Challenge assumptions, foster debate, and develop critical discourse and rational thinking in students.
  • Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements, as required.
  • Set, mark, and assess work and examinations, providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' academic performance for internal evaluation and reporting.
  • Execute mentoring of 15-20 students, adhering to Riphah Mentoring Program guidelines and best practices in mentorship.
  • Update data in VLE and other required software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Incorporate Islamic and ethical values into teaching, participating in departmental and university committees as required.
  • Ensure teaching content and methods align with RIU mission and objectives, responding to issues related to subordinates and student needs.
  • Monitor student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals, supervising and checking records.
  • Develop and disseminate research findings through publications or other media outlets.
  • Pursue practical applications of research findings, seeking to make a positive impact in the field.
  • Carry out independent research, acting as principal investigator and project leader, and manage and supervise the work of others, including research teams and projects.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Department Head, as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher in relevant field.
  • Proven experience in teaching and research, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs and materials.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation, preferably in higher education.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and software, with ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
