
English Curriculum Leader

This is a highly demanding yet rewarding role for an experienced educator to lead the English department. As an English Curriculum Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring it is well-sequenced to promote pupil progress.
Main Responsibilities:- Oversight of curriculum planning to ensure effective sequencing of content
- Leadership in implementing the curriculum across the school
- Taught lessons to students
- Mentor teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment strategies
- Review of teacher-created materials, assessments, and feedback
- Guidance on textbook selection and material creation for the content team
- Monitoring student progress through regular assessments and providing feedback to teachers
- Collaboration with other leaders, support staff, and relevant personnel within the subject area
- Mastery's degree in English or a related field with recognized teaching qualifications
- Extensive teaching experience with Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A-Level English, and strong understanding of Cambridge assessment criteria and syllabi
- Proven leadership skills, ability to manage a department, mentor teachers, and develop high-quality curriculum
- Pedagogical expertise in classroom management, assessment, feedback, and differentiation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to student success, passion for developing language and literacy skills, and focus on achieving high academic standards
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, data-driven decision-making, and ability to monitor student progress
