Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled English educator to lead our English curriculum team. As a Senior English Educator, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of the English curriculum, ensuring that it is well-sequenced to promote pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning of the curriculum content, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress.
  • Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the school.
  • Teach and guide students.
  • Mentor teachers by reviewing their lesson plans, suggesting innovative ideas to incorporate in the class, and observing their classrooms.
  • Review samples of corrected notebooks by the teachers.
  • Review quality of textbooks and material created by the content team.
  • Review corrected assessments of the teachers and provide them with appropriate feedback.
  • Provide guidance to the content team in the creation of effective reading materials and assessments that improve students' skills.
  • Support, train, and review teacher-created learning material.
  • Guide the content in the process of updating the curriculum.
  • Liaise with other leaders, student support services, and relevant staff with cross-school responsibilities.
  • Be responsible for teaching staff and other relevant personnel within the subject area.
  • Interview and train new employees, as well as guide them through the school's ethos and procedure.
  • Conduct training of teachers.
  • Plan and conduct staff meetings.
  • Encourage teachers to attend relevant training.
  • Evaluate teachers and display pupils' work – visual evidence, photographs, ICT etc.
  • Keep up to date with national developments in the subject area and teaching practice and methodology.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of teachers.
  • Ensure the quality of lesson plans made by teachers is good.
  • Conduct classroom observations to understand the teaching process of the teachers and guide them accordingly.
  • Organize subject weeks like Srijan, Literati, Samanvaya etc. with the help of the subject teachers.
  • Guide the teachers through the parent-teacher meetings regarding how they should address a query regarding a subject.
  • Take interviews and conduct demonstration sessions as part of the recruitment cycle.
  • Prepare content and assessments.
  • Train students for inter-house competitions.
