Job Overview

The Dispenser is a critical member of the medical team, responsible for storing and dispensing prescribed medication while maintaining accurate records.

This role requires collaboration with other departments to ensure smooth implementation and integration of services.

Responsibilities
  • Dispense medicines according to prescriptions, maintain stock levels, and record usage daily/weekly/monthly.
  • Adhere strictly to prescription guidelines in medicine dispensing.
  • Counsel patients on medicine use, including time/frequency, route, precautions, expected side effects, and completion of treatment course.
  • Properly label medicines in line with global standards.
  • Ensure patients receive full courses of treatment.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to maintain availability of medicines, prevent stockouts, and request timely restocking from warehouses.
  • Maintain temperature controls for medicine storage and dispensing sites.
  • Accurately register and record patient information within provided registers.
  • Adhere to administrative directives regarding work schedules, record-keeping, patient communications, re-stocking of essential drugs, consumables, and other medical supplies.
  • Update bin cards daily and track consumption records monthly.
Requirements
  • Qualified and registered dispenser with a valid license to practice.
  • Experience in similar capacities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medicine utilization.
  • English reading/writing skills.
