The Improving Livelihoods and Enterprise Development (I-LED) program is seeking a Livelihoods Development Professional to support the development of sustainable livelihoods in Pakistan. This three-year USAID-funded initiative focuses on assisting residents of Siran and Kaghan Valleys, North West Frontier Province, and Bagh District, Azad Jammu Kashmir, in rebuilding their livelihoods and linking them to markets with economic growth potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • 10 years of experience in implementing agricultural development programs, with at least 5 years in a supervisory position, managing large-scale development projects.
  • 5 years of experience promoting increased production, trade, and value addition of agricultural, horticultural, and livestock products, with strong familiarity with backward linkages to research and forward linkages to export marketing.
  • 5 years of experience improving competitiveness and strengthening value/supply chains related to agricultural, horticultural, and livestock products, including activities such as agro-tourism and the gem industry.
  • Five years of private-sector experience, including small, medium, and large enterprises working in supply chains, which may involve working with the banking sector.
  • A proven ability to achieve concrete results under time constraints and success in developing products in ecologically delicate mountain or isolated environments.
  • A minimum of a master's degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, business administration, or commerce, with experience in the agriculture/natural resources/industrial sector.
  • Undergraduate technical qualifications with a positive implementation and management track record in a fully integrated agribusiness situation will be highly regarded.
  • Fully computer literate and demonstrated high standards of written and financial reporting, including preparation of pre- and feasibility studies, business plans.
  • Able to travel to rural field sites for work purposes and Urdu mandatory, Hindko speaking ability highly desirable.
