Regional Finance Analyst

The Regional Finance Analyst is a crucial role within the Global Finance Team, supporting the Regional Finance Director in overseeing the financial management of regional field offices. This position requires strong analytical and organizational skills to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis and Budgeting:
  • Consolidate annual budgets and produce required analyses and reports to senior finance leadership.
  • Manage accounting, payments, and financial reporting for regional managed awards.
  • Assist in preparing financial analysis of country offices, including funding status, spending, and cash flow, and identify potential risks.

Controllership:
  • Prepare internal financial reports for regional and HQ management.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to field offices as requested.
  • Review cash requests from field offices and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
  • Perform monthly reviews of accounts from supported country offices and provide feedback for timely corrections.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of analytical packages, focusing on balance sheet items reconciliations, and provide feedback to countries and senior finance leadership on areas of risk.

Regional Finance Support:
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from senior finance leadership, regional vice presidents, or country offices.
  • Identify potential risks and share findings with senior finance leadership.
  • Assist in Internal/External Audit closure and corrective action plan development and tracking.
  • Perform final financial reviews of proposal budgets and realignments prior to approval and submission to donors.
  • Serve as an ERP (MS Dynamics) Super User and act as focal person/first level support for resolving non-system related finance support tickets.
  • Maintain a filing system for relevant documentation relating to supported country offices.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's Degree, CPA, or CA a plus.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in local languages a plus.
  • Minimum five years of progressive finance/accounting experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Prior work experience in a multi-cultural international environment abroad highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with GAAP and proven general knowledge of Fund Accounting.
  • Previous work experience with a major general ledger software package, MS D365 preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, various accounting software, and email/internet software.
