Project Accountant Job Description

A dynamic and results-driven Project Accountant is required to join our team in Karachi. As a key member of the Project Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial support and contributing to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Quantity Surveyors in budgeting for projects, ensuring accurate financial planning and control.
  • Present budgets to senior management and obtain approval, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Manage cash flows for approved project budgets, ensuring timely and effective financial management.
  • Approve material requisitions in accordance with the budget, upholding financial discipline.
  • Monitor budget compliance and compare actual vs. budget, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Generate purchase orders and goods receive notes, streamlining financial operations.
  • Ensure all supporting documents are attached before awarding contracts to contractors and suppliers, maintaining due diligence.
  • Process contractors' payments and ensure timely payment as per agreement, fostering strong relationships.
  • Reconcile vendors' payments and quantity surveyors' reconciliations, guaranteeing accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure timely closing of project advances, upholding financial responsibility.
  • Coordinate with other business entities for payment receivables, optimizing financial performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
