Big Data Engineer Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Big Data Engineer with a solid background in data engineering and a passion for working with large datasets. The ideal candidate will have experience of over 4 to 6+ years specifically in designing, developing, and managing complex data systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cutting-edge Big Data technologies to build critical distributed systems from scratch.
  • Develop and manage complex ETL jobs and pipelines using various tools and frameworks.
  • Act as a team member, consulting other teammates on new system developments and providing guidance on best practices.
  • Solve complex issues and provide technical expertise to team members when needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent understanding of the ETL cycle, data processing pipelines, and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Strong software development and programming skills with a focus on data using Python, PySpark, and/or Scala.
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and columnar databases (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, HBase).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and IAC tools like Docker, Jenkins, Terraform.
  • Experience with integration of data from multiple sources and hands-on experience with various core services.
