Network Security Specialist:

This role involves managing and maintaining the organization's network security infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data transmission.

  • Design and implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption technologies, to protect against unauthorized access and malicious activities.
  • Monitor and analyze network activity to detect and respond to security threats, including regular reviews of firewall configurations to reduce false positives/negatives and minimize impact on application performance.
  • Collaborate with security and development teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle, ensuring secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network security configurations, incidents, and response actions, generating reports for security audits and compliance reviews.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and best practices, recommending updates to network security policies and procedures as needed.
  • Familiarity with IDS/IPS, SIEM systems, and log analysis is essential for this role.
  • A solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, routing protocols, and VPNs (IPSec/SSL), is required.
  • This role requires proficiency in configuring security zones, policies, NAT, and VPN, IPSEC tunnels, as well as experience with troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, traceroute, NetFlow, etc.).
