Job Title: Library Information Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Library Information Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the library team, assisting with the maintenance of library records, and ensuring that the library is well-organized and efficiently run.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the library, including maintaining inventory, processing loans, and dealing with queries from users.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date library records, including cataloguing and classification of materials.
  • Provide excellent customer service to users, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other library staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of library policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Library Science or a related field is essential.
  • Proven experience working in a library environment, preferably in an administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and users at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to workload and deadlines.
