The Jinnah School of Public Policy and Leadership is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead its growth and development.

A key initiative of the National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad, the school aims to be a dynamic reform-driven institution committed to academic excellence and cultivating the next generation of leaders for Pakistan.

The Principal shall play a pivotal role in institution-building, setting academic direction, leading faculty recruitment, building national and international partnerships, and ensuring impact-oriented teaching, research, and policy engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant social science discipline from a reputable Higher Education Commission-recognized institute
  • At least 15 years of relevant academic research and leadership experience grounded in higher education
  • A strong record of scholarly publications in reputable journals with a significant impact factor
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles such as Dean, Director, or Chairperson
  • Proven ability to design and lead academic programs and institutional partnerships, particularly with reputable international academic institutes
  • Strong commitment to innovation, diversity, excellence, and nation-building through education

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the strategic plan for the establishment and growth of the JSPPL
  • Design and implement rigorous academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels in governance and public policy
  • Operationalize practitioner courses, certifications, training modules for continuous professional education and mid and senior leadership training
  • Introduce innovative pedagogical practices, including simulations, policy labs, and field-based research
  • Lead faculty recruitment, development, and performance in line with international standards
  • Cultivate partnerships with the Government of Pakistan, provincial administrations, legislative bodies, international development organizations, private sector entities, and academic institutions
  • Lead efforts in securing external funding grants and philanthropic support for school development and research
  • Serve as the chief advocate and spokesperson for the JSPPL within NUST and externally
  • Ensure compliance with HEC's quality assurance standards, program accreditation requirements, and strategic reporting
