About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) to help us unlock valuable insights from clinical notes, care plans, and patient documentation. The ideal candidate will work with transformer models and rule-based techniques to enable AI-driven personalized care, behavioral analysis, and non-adherence detection.

Key Responsibilities
  • NLP Pipeline Development: Design and build NLP pipelines to extract symptoms, conditions, behaviors, and clinical context from unstructured data.
  • Model Fine-Tuning: Fine-tune and deploy state-of-the-art models like ClinicalBERT, BioBERT, or BlueBERT to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Rule-Based Implementations: Implement sectionizers, negation detection, and temporal classifiers using tools like MedSpaCy to enhance model performance.
  • Hybrid Model Development: Contribute to hybrid models that combine unstructured and structured patient data to provide a comprehensive understanding of patient needs.
  • Care Intervention Generation: Support the generation of personalized care interventions based on AI-driven insights.
  • Collaboration and Compliance: Collaborate with ML engineers, clinical analysts, and developers while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards (HIPAA).
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in NLP/ML.
  • Hands-on experience with transformers and fine-tuning pre-trained models.
  • Strong programming background in Python.
  • Experience working with PyTorch/TensorFlow.
  • Experience working with libraries like spaCy and Hugging Face Transformers.
  • Understanding of context detection, classification, and named entity recognition.
  • Deployment experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
