Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with the ability to lead and manage the accounting function.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
  • Making financial budgets and forecasts
  • Preparing accurate financial reports (balance sheet, income statements and cash flow statements)
  • Account reconciliations, including inter-company accounts as well as complex bank accounts
  • Managing the general ledger system and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data

In addition to these core responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Leading the accounting team and providing guidance and support to junior accountants
  • Finalizing salaries of staff and presenting salary sheets to management for approval
  • Performing cost-benefit analysis of production orders to assess company profitability against each order
  • Verifying and approving invoices received from vendors
  • Analyzing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations
  • Projecting future revenues and expenses or providing advice
  • Preparing forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping
  • Advising management on issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and budget forecasts

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least 5-6 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Expertise in financial analysis and reporting
