Medical Billing Team Lead
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Team Lead to oversee various tasks requiring data analysis, evaluation, and sound judgment. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining billing software, appealing denied claims, and recording late payments.
To succeed in this role, you must possess in-depth knowledge of billing software and medical insurance policies. The ideal candidate must also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as communicating with clients and various insurance agents is a crucial part of the job.
Key Responsibilities- Billing and Claims Management: Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
- Patient Information: Ensure the patient's medical information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Financial Documentation: Prepare bills and invoices, and document amounts due for medical procedures and services.
- Referrals and Pre-authorizations: Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Payment Tracking: Monitor and record late payments.
- Dispute Resolution: Follow up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Billing Accuracy: Examine patient bills for accuracy and request any missing information.
- Claim Appeal: Investigate and appeal denied claims.
- Financial Planning: Help patients develop patient payment plans.
- Sofware Maintenance: Maintain billing software by updating rate changes, cash spreadsheets, and current collection reports.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records, excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities, and outstanding multitasking and time management skills.
