Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Contract Support Specialist to provide assistance in reviewing and preparing initial drafts of contracts. The successful candidate will maintain and report the status of contracts at various stages of drafting and reviewing.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Initial Drafting Assistance: Collaborate with the team to prepare initial draft agreements/contracts, including service level agreements, gas sale and purchase agreements, and contracts for procured services governed by Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Rules.
  2. Ammendment Identification and Reporting: Identify amendments to laws, rules, and regulations made by federal, provincial, or local government bodies and present them to the immediate superior for review.
  3. Contract Review and Drafting: Support drafting and reviewing contracts related to commercial transactions, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and non-disclosure agreements.
  4. Tenancy and Lease Agreement Drafting: Prepare drafts for tenancy and lease agreements, ensuring both legal perspectives and stakeholder interests are covered.
  5. Negotiation and Contract Management: Assist the supervisor in negotiating gas sale agreements with exploration and production companies within the gas industry.
  6. Document Custody: Maintain contract copies in a safe custody.
  7. Legal Opinion Drafting: Undertake initial drafting of legal opinions and guidance for review by Legal department management prior to sharing with user departments.
  8. Representation in Court: Attend court or Federal Ombudsman hearings on behalf of the organization in important matters or as deemed necessary.
  9. Contract Progress Reports: Prepare periodic reports for Legal department management on contract progress status.
  10. Risk Management: Comply with the Risk Management Framework, participate actively in risk management activities across the organization, identify, report, record, and manage key risks in a timely manner, receive appropriate training in risk management, and perform any other task assigned by the superior.
