Video Content Specialist

Description:

The role of an Associate Cinematographer is multifaceted and demands a strong technical understanding of camera operations, lighting, and visual storytelling. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Photography to bring the director's vision to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Photography in translating the director's creative vision into compelling visual narratives.
  • Support the setup and management of camera equipment, lens choices, framing, and movement planning.
  • Collaborate with the lighting and grip departments to establish effective lighting schemes that enhance the visual aesthetic of the production.
  • Manage the workflow of the camera department, including media management, backups, and organization.
  • Operate secondary cameras or B-cam when required.
  • Participate in location scouting with the DoP and offer suggestions for resolving technical challenges.
  • Ensure continuity of visual style across different scenes and shooting days.
  • Assist in planning and executing complex shots, such as Steadicam, gimbal, and drone captures.
  • Coordinate with post-production teams regarding footage quality and technical specifications.
  • Assist in editing video projects, including commercials, social media videos, interviews, promos, and other content.
  • Organize, log, and manage raw footage, project files, and media assets.
  • Sync audio, apply basic color correction, and perform rough cuts as directed.
  • Add music, sound effects, and simple motion graphics as needed.
  • Export and deliver final assets in multiple formats optimized for various platforms.
  • Collaborate with senior editors, producers, and creative teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain version control and adhere to file naming conventions and workflow standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest editing techniques, trends, and software updates.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Camera Assistant, Operator, or Junior Cinematographer.
  • Strong knowledge of digital cinema cameras and their capabilities.
  • Understanding of lighting techniques and color theory principles.
  • Ability to manage and organize camera equipment effectively.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities on fast-paced sets.
  • Knowledge of post-production workflows is highly beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work long hours and travel as needed.
  • 0-2 years of experience in video editing or a relevant internship.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, with knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve being a plus.
  • Basic understanding of storytelling principles, pacing, and visual rhythm.
  • Familiarity with various video formats, codecs, and export settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to take feedback and apply revisions efficiently.
  • Passion for video content creation and a willingness to learn and grow.
