Pharmacy Technician Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacological services by managing inventory, preparing medications, and providing exceptional patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Greeting patients and healthcare providers in person and by phone, answering questions and referring inquiries to the pharmacist as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records of physicians' orders and prescriptions.
  • Organizing medications for the pharmacist to dispense, calculating quantities, and assembling intravenous solutions and pharmaceutical therapies.

This role also involves:

  • Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensuring medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments, as well as preparing reports by collecting and summarizing information.

Maintaining a safe and clean pharmacy environment is essential, requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory, including checking stock levels, anticipating needs, and expediting orders.

Requirements
  • Degree or certification in pharmacy technology or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
