Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Backend team in building new product features for fleet safety and AI Dashcam software.

Motive empowers individuals who manage physical operations with tools that make their work safer, more productive, and profitable. Our platform provides complete visibility and control, reducing manual workloads by automating tasks.

We serve over 120,000 customers across various industries, including transportation, construction, energy, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a technology vision for building new product features for fleet and driver safety.
  • Manage engineering teams to achieve product and business outcomes.
  • Create a long-term product roadmap with product teams.
  • Lead technical design discussions with Frontend, Product, Design, Computer Vision, and Data Science teams.
  • Drive execution, launch, and daily operations of functionalities at high quality.
  • Introduce and evolve cutting-edge development processes.
  • Develop best practices and coding standards.
  • Hire, manage, and develop a diverse team of highly qualified Engineers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related domains.
  • Experience working in high-throughput and low-latency systems.
  • 3+ years of experience managing 10+ engineers.
  • 5+ years of experience building high-scale distributed systems.
  • Technical depth and breadth in agile product development, distributed systems, infrastructure, cloud computing, build tools, front-end engineering, mobile, and QA.
  • Ability to perform architectural work and definition of requirements based on business issues.
  • A proven track record as a nimble thinker and doer, thriving in an environment that demands excellence.
  • A high degree of comfort with short release cycles and deep experience working on a product for public consumption.
  • Passion for continuous experimentation and learning, coupled with a desire to make things run faster and better.
  • Demonstrated success in hiring, managing, motivating, and promoting skilled Engineers.
