Teaching and Academic Position

The role of the teaching academic is multifaceted, encompassing various responsibilities that contribute to the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet performance targets assigned by the Head of Department to ensure efficient management of departmental goals.
  • Develop a high-quality learning environment for students, adhering to standards set by the Dean/Principal.
  • Deliver courses in accordance with faculty workload policy, prioritizing student-centric approaches.
  • Enhance own teaching skills, contributing to the planning of academic programs, and developing innovative teaching methods.
  • Employ experiential learning approaches, challenge students' thinking, facilitate debates, and promote critical discourse.
  • Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements, providing guidance and support.
  • Assess and provide feedback on students' academic performance, maintaining accurate records for evaluation purposes.
  • Mentor students under the Riphah Mentoring Program, fostering academic and personal growth.
  • Update digital records and software as required, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Integrate Islamic and ethical values into teaching practices, promoting a holistic learning experience.
  • Participate in departmental and university committee activities as needed, supporting collaborative efforts.
  • Ensure teaching content and delivery methods align with RIU's mission and vision, addressing issues related to subordinates and student needs.
  • Monitor and record student attendance in classes, labs, and practical sessions.
  • Contribute to publications, research papers, and disseminate findings through various media channels.
  • Seek practical applications of research outcomes, driving innovation and impact.
  • Pursue independent research, serving as principal investigator and project leader.
  • Act as line manager, overseeing the work of others in research teams and projects, or as PhD supervisor when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
