Key Accountant Role

This is a key role within the organization that requires a skilled and experienced accountant to manage a range of financial activities, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and compliance. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and be able to maintain accurate records and prepare financial reports in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  1. Post payments and receipts in the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
  2. Process vendor payments and prepare vendor reconciliations, ensuring that all payments are made on time.
  3. Prepare bank reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded.
  4. Maintain accurate records of income tax collected and withheld, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  5. Prepare and submit quarterly tax statements in a timely manner.
  6. Prepare and submit monthly PRA returns.
  7. Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare necessary reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  8. Maintain and update the store register, including timely recording of consumption, returns, replacements, and valuation of closing stocks.
  9. Ensure all documents related to accounts are properly maintained, filed, and kept confidential.
  10. Perform any other duties related to bookkeeping, reporting, and administration as assigned by management.

Requirements:
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum BCom
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Other Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
