Contract Professional Role Summary

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong understanding of contract administration and management principles, with experience in drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating complex procurement contracts.

About the Job:

  • We are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to manage full contract lifecycle from inception to closure.
  • The selected candidate will have excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply management processes, including competitive bidding, contract management, supplier performance management, and life-cycle costing processes.
  • Responsibilities will include researching, analyzing, and interpreting contracts, as well as developing insights and supporting business decisions based on advanced knowledge of contract and legal principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drafts, negotiates, administers, and manages contracts, outlining clear terms aligned with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  2. Actively involved throughout the contract lifecycle from planning requirements to fulfillment of obligations, addressing issues and risks as needed.
  3. Applies and maintains current understanding of Qualcomm policies, positions, and operations, as well as legal guidelines related to contracts administration and/or management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Business, Political Science, or related field, and 5+ years of Contract Administration professional experience; or Associate's degree in Communication, Business, Political Science, or related field, and 6+ years of Contract Administration professional experience.
  • Must be able to meet strict and often challenging deadlines.
  • Must be comfortable working as part of a multicultural team.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience working on strategic sourcing deals in a large indirect procurement organization dealing with multiple contract types.
  • Good working knowledge of legal and business concepts and terminology, and the ability to assess legal and business risk when making decisions concerning contractual commitments.

Work Environment:

  • This role works under some supervision and is responsible for own work. Impact of decisions is readily apparent, and errors made typically impact timeline.
