As a key member of the financial management team, you will be responsible for establishing internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation. This involves managing the accounting staff responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.

You will also prepare monthly financial reports and financial forecasts, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. Additionally, you will oversee the production of periodic financial reports, providing necessary information for the annual external audit.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in asset management and strong analytical skills to provide financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. You will ensure compliance with federal and provincial government requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Establishing and maintaining effective internal controls and procedures for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  2. Managing a team of accountants to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
  3. Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports and financial forecasts to stakeholders.
  4. Ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.
  5. Providing financial analysis and recommendations to support business decision-making.
