Job Summary

The Recovery Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless patient care and efficient daily operations in the recovery department.

  1. Upon receiving patients with consent forms, verify that the documents have accurate patient information and are properly signed by the relevant authorities.
  2. Promptly shift patients to pre-operative recovery, confirming that monitors are attached and necessary protocols are followed.
  3. Assist in post-procedure recovery, handling specimens received from the OR while closely monitoring patient status.
  4. Perform cannulation in the recovery room as needed, attaching fluids accordingly.
  5. Maintain accurate records of patient dietary status and NPO times.
  6. Ensure proper handover of patients to Technicians / Senior Technicians before shifting them to the OR.
  7. Update patient history and details on the HMIS database.
  8. Transfer patients from recovery to wards, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  9. Carry out all tasks assigned by the supervisor or Head of Department.
Key Qualifications

This position requires:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and patients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and high levels of organization.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and principles.
  • Basic life support certification and any additional training as required by the hospital.
