Job Responsibilities
  • Handover and take over shift-related information, including patient files, medication charts, investigation reports, and intake/output charts.
  • Provide direct patient care in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner throughout the shift.
  • Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and adjusting practices based on health outcomes.
  • Resolve patient issues using multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection control policies, medication procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Assist doctors and consultants during rounds, record instructions, and prepare patients for procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is available and ready for procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care following SOPs.
  • Follow doctors' orders and raise concerns when necessary.
  • Manage medical supplies, ensuring they are stocked, stored properly, and accessible.
  • Check and record blood sugar levels and vital signs, especially pre- and post-operative patients.
  • Perform blood draws and other lab procedures.
  • Perform IV cannulation following clinical policies.
  • Report incidents involving patients, staff, visitors, or untoward occurrences promptly.
  • Supervise Nurse Aids, Student Nurses, and other support staff.
  • Perform delegated tasks as directed by the Ward Incharge or Nursing Coordinator.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Head of Department.
