Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Medical Officer in Family Medicine, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and reassessments of patients
  • Formulating diagnoses based on lab results and recommending relevant treatments
  • CALCULATING THE CORRECT DOSAGE AND PROVIDING MEDICATION PRESCRIPTION ACCORDINGLY
  • Making regular follow-ups of patients or as requested
  • Evaluating patient condition and making changes in treatment plans accordingly
  • Referring patients to other relevant health facilities as needed
  • Enhancing competencies in a clinical setting under the supervision of Consultants and faculty staff
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A MBBS degree from a recognized university, with a preference for additional diplomas or MCPS in relevant fields
  • At least six years of post-MBBS experience in related areas, or three years with additional qualifications
  • Strong communication skills to understand patient needs and maintain open communication with faculty, staff, patients, and their families
  • The ability to make informed decisions and develop solutions to address root causes of problems
  • Effective counseling skills to adapt content, style, tone, and medium of communication to suit target audiences
