Job Title: Site Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, security and overall upkeep of a private Islamic studies centre for females and a private clinic. They will be expected to lock and unlock buildings as required, deal with pre-planned maintenance tasks and perform minor repairs.

Key responsibilities include ensuring that all plant and equipment is maintained to the required standard, grounds and garden maintenance, portage around the site and monitoring the premises for any hazards.

Requirements:

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Experience supporting maintenance of an aspect of buildings or premises
  • Transferable experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety policies/codes of practice
  • Ability to use a range of tools and equipment, ensuring safe handling and storage
  • Sound knowledge of building cleaning standards
  • DIY skills including woodwork, plumbing, painting and decorating
  • Record keeping experience
  • Ability to undertake caretaking and cleaning duties and maintenance and repair tasks
  • Ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload
  • Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with unexpected problems
  • Good inter-personal skills to communicate with a range of people and students
