Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced software development leader to join our team. As a Principal Software Engineer - Backend, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and deployment of high-quality software systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather in-depth knowledge of the codebase technologies and industry trends;
  • Provide expertise on technologies and architectures and mentor team members;
  • Collaborate with other leads and seniors to ensure delivery of software of the highest standards;
  • Promote company-wide coding standards, guidelines, and best practices;
  • Demonstrate technical leadership by setting challenging goals and guiding team efforts towards successful project delivery;
  • Impact the direction and scope of the technical vision within your stream;
  • Closely collaborate with product, infrastructure, design, UX, CLM, and strategy teams to deliver high-quality products;
  • Hire A-players to build high-performing teams;
  • Owning business KPIs as a conduit to product and business functions;
  • Be accountable for the technical direction while ensuring decisions align with the company's vision.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience;
  • In-depth understanding of open source technologies like Python, PHP, or Java;
  • Knowledge of web application frameworks such as Django, Laravel, or Spring Boot;
  • Experience with source code control, build process management, CI/CD, automated testing, and development processes;
  • Understanding of creating and architecting scalable and available systems;
  • Good understanding of leadership, coaching, and mentoring principles;
  • Experience working on high-traffic and large-scale web products is a plus;
  • Agile methodologies experience such as Kanban, Scrum, and XP;
  • Understanding of good product, design, and UX principles;
  • Analysis, design, coding, and implementation of web applications experience.
