Data Governance Lead

Overview:

The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for leading and managing all organization-wide data governance activities.

This includes establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework, defining roles and responsibilities related to data governance, and ensuring clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead Data Governance Activities: Manage and coordinate all data governance activities across the organization, including data quality, metadata management, and data security.
  2. Establish Data Governance Framework: Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with business needs and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Define Roles and Responsibilities: Define clear roles and responsibilities for data governance stakeholders, including data owners, custodians, and consumers.
  4. Ensure Data Quality: Ensure high-quality data is available to support business decision-making, by developing and implementing data quality standards and metrics.
  5. Manage Metadata: Develop and maintain accurate and complete metadata to support data discovery, integration, and analytics.
  6. Implement Data Security: Implement data security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
  7. Monitor Compliance: Monitor and report on compliance with data governance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading data governance initiatives and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
