Job Purpose:

  • Lead and manage all organization-wide Data Governance activities
  • Improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets
  • Work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the information flow for organization, including the integrity, efficiency, and availability of data
  • Establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the departmental and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.
  • Ensure that data is usable, accessible and protected
  • Developing and implementing data quality standards and master data management
  • Data Catalog standard management and maintain the inventory of all data assets in an organization
  • Create and maintain common data dictionaries and the tools or methods that support data standards
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • Provide periodic updates to the organizational Data Governance Roadmap and improvements
  • Conducting of periodic audit of the system utilization and Capacity planning
  • Identify new opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace / represent data as a strategic business asset at the Senior Management
  • Ensure compliance with PTA, other data compliance Govt. Regulations, as well as with legal and ethical standards
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Manage Digital Transformation and AI projects

Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Business Administration/MIS/ Information Management (Data Management & Governance Certification)

Skills – Job Specific:

  • Experience leading strategic digital and AI projects that intersect with data governance.
  • Deep knowledge of data-related regulatory frameworks (e.g., PTA, GDPR-equivalent) and ethical data use.
  • Knowledge of risk mitigation in data architecture and security protocols.
  • Establishing inventory, classification, and lineage of enterprise data assets.
  • Creating common language and structure for enterprise-wide data usage.
  • Translating business requirements into technical data governance mandates.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, system development life cycle (SDLC), and scalable architectures. Practical knowledge of platforms supporting data protection and access control

Work Experience:

  • Must have at least 8 years of related experience
  • Experience in a major services organization, with large-scale data management, Data Governance and oversight experience.
