Job Overview

The role of an IT Operations Manager is crucial in overseeing the smooth functioning of information technology systems and electronic data processing. This position involves planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the operations of these systems.

Main Responsibilities

  1. IT Systems Management: Manage information technology systems to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively.
  2. Planning and Organization: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP).
  3. Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development.
  4. Team Management: Hire and manage information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate, and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks, and information systems.
  5. Budget Control: Control the budget for computer systems and ensure that expenditures are within set limits.
  6. Technology Maintenance: Ensure that technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.

Main Activities

  1. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network operating systems.
  2. Hardware and Software Knowledge: Be familiar with all hardware and software used by the organization.
  3. User Orientation: Provide orientation to new users of existing technology.
  4. Training: Train staff about potential uses of existing technology.
  5. Information Access: Provide recommendations about accessing information and support.
  6. Inventory Management: Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources.
  7. Technology Monitoring: Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access.
