Primary School Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated primary school teacher to join our team. As a primary school teacher, you will be responsible for teaching all areas of the primary curriculum to a class of primary-age pupils.

  • You will take responsibility for the progress of your class, ensuring that each pupil reaches their full potential.
  • Organising the classroom and learning resources is also an essential part of this role, as well as creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
  • The ability to plan, prepare and present engaging lessons is crucial, catering for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation is vital in this role.
  • You will also be responsible for preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development, meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development.

This role requires strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You will need to provide feedback to parents and carers on a pupil's progress at parents' evenings and other meetings.

  • A strong knowledge in particular subject areas.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as using your own initiative.
  • Patience and a good sense of humour.
