We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Virtual Medical Assistant to support our healthcare team. This individual will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical professionals, ensuring efficient operation of our medical offices.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Communication: Handle patient inquiries via phone, email, and chat, providing information, scheduling appointments, and addressing concerns.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of time and resources for healthcare providers.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information, handle pre-authorizations, and process claims.
- Data Entry: Input and update patient information, medical histories, and treatment plans in the electronic medical records system.
- Administrative Support: Assist with the preparation of medical reports, correspondence, and other documents as needed.
- Customer Service: Provide high-quality service to patients, addressing their needs promptly and professionally.
- Telehealth Support: Assist with the setup and management of telehealth appointments, ensuring both patients and providers are prepared and connected.
- Billing Assistance: Support the billing department by preparing and submitting medical billing information and following up on outstanding claims.
- Compliance: Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with medical standards, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Certification in Medical Assisting or a related field.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
